individual supervision that encourages you to show up as your human self
Who I Am
I’m not an expert.
I’m not an expert therapist.
I’m not an expert supervisor.
I’m a human. I’m a human therapist and a human supervisor, which means I lead with vulnerability and honesty and don’t shy away from discussing and exploring the messy and complex parts of myself and this career.
Being a therapist is beautiful and it’s also really really hard. I’ve had seasons where it has pushed me to my limits and times when it has flowed freely and I’ve kicked butt at setting boundaries and honouring my own needs. This career–especially private practice–is the ultimate example of both/and.
How I Show Up
My approach is person-centred and rooted in feminist theory and disrupting archaic power imbalances. I see supervisees as my colleagues, my peers, my equals. I intentionally focus on creating a space that feels warm, safe, and shared. We’ll work collaboratively to understand and explore what you’re hoping for from supervision. I’ll meet you where you’re at, showing up with authenticity, openness, flexibility, and curiosity. I’m open to authentically speaking about my own ebbs and flows in this career, if you would find this valuable.
I will wholeheartedly encourage you to take up space, and we can delve into a wide range of topics, including burnout, boundaries, managing bookkeeping as a sole proprietor, people-pleasing and beyond. No topic is too big or too small, too clinical or too administrative.
Together we’ll explore how you want to be in relationship with your therapist identity and overall sense of self. I’ll support and encourage you in giving yourself permission to create a sustainable and intentional career that aligns with your values.
The Logistics
I primarily offer supervision one-on-one, a format that offers a meaningful opportunity for us to focus intentionally on fostering a reciprocal and safe relationship, and exploring your unique needs at this season of your career and your supervision journey.
I honour that individual supervision is not always an accessible option and am happy to discuss the possibility of dyadic supervision with yourself and an additional colleague.
